Vegetable Garden Fence
Once the deer are kept out of the vegetable garden, all you need is a low 3.5' - 4' wood lattice fence to keep the rabbits and dogs out of your heirloom tomatoes (depending on the kind of dog you have!)

This wood lattice gate around this vegetable garden is another nice example of a gate blending with the fence.

wood and wire gate
When a gate doesn't need to be inviting and is only a means of access, sometimes it's best to match the gate design as close to the fence as possible. This wood frame and wire mesh gate gets its support from the crossing wood members, yet doesn't draw too much attention to itself and allows views through to the forest beyond.

plaster wall with lattice top
This 8' high wall doesn't feel that tall with 5' of plaster and 3' of wooden lattice detailing on top. This is a nice blend of beauty and security.

wood lattice fence
Sometimes 6' won't keep a deer out of your vegetable garden and you need to go up to 8'. This naturally weathered wood lattice fence is really beautiful and does the job protecting this raised vegetable garden.

This weathered wood fence has the slats slightly overlap allowing no space between to provide security and privacy. This fence is about 7' tall.

wood and wire fence
This 8' high wood frame fence with a wire mesh interior is very simple. This kind of transparent fence is nice when you need to maintain pets or create security, but don't want to screen a nice view beyond. The stacked river rocks at the base are added to keep dogs from easily digging their way to a neighborhood joy ride.

round wood rail fence
A very basic wood rail fence may not keep your dog in or critters out, but this simple wood fence can keep a trained horse contained and is a great look for a ranch or farm.

bluestone stacked stone wall
Dry stacked stone walls can be very beautiful. Dry stack cladding is when the mortar is on at the back of the wall and not brought out to the front so the stone appears to be laid without mortar. Dry stacked stone can also be just that, the stone is stacked and held by gravity and the skilled placement of each stone together.

Decorative white picket fence
Here is a decorative white picket fence for a ranch style home. It looks better without the asphalt drive in the photo!

antique wood gate
The image is cut off, but you can still get the idea of this antiqued, green wood gate with rusted iron clavos, iron - stake stop and simple panel detailing. This could be used as a garden gate as well as structure entry.

Limestone Wall
Garden walls and retaining walls clad with limestone can be beautiful with the same stone as a cap with a snapped edge. This stone wall has an ashlar stone cladding. Not cheap!
